We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Lead Barista / Barista Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will not only craft exceptional coffee and beverages
but also manage and mentor a team of baristas, ensuring the highest standards of quality and
customer service. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a passion for coffee culture.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Barista Duties:
Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, espresso, and other beverages.
Maintain knowledge of coffee and tea regions and the various differences in flavor
and blends.
Ensure all drinks are made to customer specifications and standards.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including coffee machines and
equipment.
Handle cash and credit transactions accurately and efficiently.
2. Team Management:
Supervise, train, and support barista staff to ensure excellent customer service.
Schedule shifts and manage staff coverage to optimize efficiency.
Monitor barista performance and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
3. Inventory and Supplies:
Manage inventory of coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other supplies.
Place orders to ensure the café is well-stocked.
Monitor usage and waste, implementing measures to minimize waste and manage
costs.
4. Customer Service:
Engage with customers, providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Address customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
Ensure customer satisfaction and build a loyal customer base.
5. Reporting and Administration:
Maintain accurate records of sales, expenses, and inventory.
Prepare and submit regular reports to the Café Manager / Owner.
6. Health and Safety:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Implement and enforce cleanliness and sanitation standards.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a barista, with a strong understanding of coffee brewing techniques.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or management role is preferred.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing inventory.
