• This role is expected to own the system, standards, planning, follow-up, and execution discipline across these areas, while remaining practical and hands-on.
Key Responsibilities
• Run preventive maintenance for farm equipment, facilities, utilities, irrigation hardware, and support infrastructure, and carry out repair work personally where appropriate.
• Track service intervals, faults, recurring issues, asset condition, spare-parts needs, and priority repairs, and respond quickly to breakdowns until issues are properly resolved.
• Maintain workshop readiness, tools, records, hygiene, and cleanliness discipline, including practical HACCP-style upkeep where relevant.
• Lead small-to-medium internal construction, repair, renovation, and improvement works and supervise outsourced works from scope through execution.
• Maintain strong day-to-day health and safety discipline across farm operations, workshop activity, maintenance work, irrigation work, and construction tasks.
• Maintain organized control of spare parts, tools, consumables, and agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, chemicals, irrigation consumables, and packaging.
• Maintain practical quality-control discipline so produce leaving the farm meets expected grading and customer standards.
• Own day-to-day irrigation operation, including schedules, zone operation, valves, filters, leaks, routine checks, troubleshooting, and follow-up.
• Build workable schedules, task lists, records, and follow-up systems, and coordinate labor, materials, tools, vendors, service providers, and contractors so work is organized and efficient.
Candidate Profile
• Mechanical engineering or agricultural engineering is preferred; civil or project exposure is valuable.
• Diploma, degree, or equivalent hands-on technical training is acceptable, and strong practical experience can substitute for formal academic qualifications.
• Candidates should have practical experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical, utility, facilities, irrigation, or farm-operational assets.
• Candidates should be able to supervise labor, direct hands-on work, and manage both internal works and outsourced contractors.
• Strong planning and organizational ability across scheduling, materials, execution, standards, and follow-through is required.
• Working familiarity with farm equipment, pumps, engines, workshop practices, irrigation systems, or similar mechanical systems is important.
• Good operational discipline around safety, cleanliness, stock control, and day-to-day site standards is required.
• Experience with inventory systems, agricultural inputs, product handling, grading, or dispatch quality control is a strong advantage.
