Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Executive Chef / Head Cook to lead the kitchen of our Arabic restaurant in Liwa, Sohar, Sultanate of Oman. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Arabic cuisine, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Menu Development:

Create, design, and update the Arabic cuisine menu, ensuring traditional authenticity and creativity.

Develop new dishes and specials that enhance customer experience and meet seasonal demand.

Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation of all dishes served.

2. Kitchen Management:

Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring smooth functioning and coordination among the kitchen staff.

Manage food preparation, cooking, and plating with attention to detail and efficiency.

Ensure the kitchen is compliant with health and safety regulations and maintain cleanliness.

3. Team Leadership:

Train, supervise, and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring a high level of performance.

Delegate tasks efficiently to kitchen personnel and monitor their progress.

Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

4. Inventory and Cost Control:

Manage inventory of food, equipment, and kitchen supplies.

Monitor food costs and adjust purchasing to maintain profitability.

Ensure proper portion control and minimize wastage.

5. Quality Assurance:

Maintain the highest standards of food quality and safety in accordance with industry regulations.

Inspect dishes for accuracy, presentation, and taste before service.

6. Customer Satisfaction:

Address customer inquiries and ensure a positive dining experience.

Handle any complaints related to food preparation and service in a professional manner.

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef or Head Cook, preferably in Arabic cuisine.

Proven ability to manage a busy kitchen and lead a team.

Strong understanding of Arabic culinary techniques, spices, and flavor profiles.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene.

Ability to create menus that balance traditional flavors with modern techniques.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
